Lenape District Alumni Ambassador Gathering
Save the Date! 2nd Annual Lenape District Alumni Ambassador Gathering will be held Saturday, January 10, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Lenape High School – freshly renovated and expanded!
All alumni of Lenape, Shawnee, Cherokee and Seneca are invited.
Special recognition for District “Legacy Families” – those with 3 generations of students who attended any of our high schools.
NOTE: If you are a “legacy family” – or know of one – please contact us. A District legacy family is one with a student currently attending or recently graduated from any one of the four district high schools who has a parent and grandparent who also attended one of our district schools.
Other planned activities include:
- Resource table for reunion planners
- Meet, greet and reminisce with former classmates, teachers and staff members
- Interact with current student ambassadors to learn what’s “new" at your old High School
- Special presentations by alumni “experts" in the fields of health and wellness
- Entertainment and Refreshments
Tickets or an RSVP are not required, but your response is encouraged for planning purposes.

Where Are They Now? Taping in October 2007
Since 2002, we have interviewed 61 alumni from all three of the oldest high schools (Seneca is still too young) in a variety of professions. The new round of tapings will be conducted at the LDTV studio at Lenape HS during the weeks of October 20 and 27. All interviews will be conducted in the studio and will be scheduled between 9 a.m. and 3 pm. We are looking for successful alumni who have graduated from Lenape, Shawnee and Cherokee from the first graduating classes on through (and including) the class of 1998. Nominations are welcome from classmates, parents and teachers. Self nominations are acceptable. In addition to individual interviews, we are adding group interviews of spouses who graduated from district schools, siblings who have unique careers, and even inter-generational interviews of families – a parent and child, each of whom graduated from one of our schools (note that in this case, the child should have graduated before 1999). Anyone interested in nominating someone or being considered for the interview should contact Joe Laufer, Director of Alumni Relations or call 609-268-2000, Ext. 5560. A pre-interview kit will be sent to each person selected for an interview. Nomination Forms are available on the alumni E-Board, which also contains a list of all 61 previous interviewees. The new programs will air on LDTV at intervals throughout the year 2009.

Reunion Planning Kit
Joe Laufer, LRHSD Alumni Coordinator, has reunion planning kits available for reunion committees and planners. Each kit contains information to help you plan your reunion such as a suggested backdater, facility locations, reunion planning companies and more.
| |
Alumni e-Board
The Office of Alumni Relations maintains an electronic bulletin board with current information on Alumni activity. An electronic version of the Reunion Planning Kit is now posted, as well as information on the Alumni Cable TV program, "Where Are They Now?". Current reunion information will be posted as well as special bulletins about alumni issues.

Teacher on Two Wheels
One man. One bicycle. Two years. Thousands of miles. Follow along as a teacher rides the earth in search of tailwinds, smooth roads, and students he can learn from.
Andrew Morgan (Class of 2000) is riding his bike and pulling his trailer from New Jersey to Argentina, then taking a freighter to South Africa, then riding to Egypt. You can follow his Blog to see what he is up to and where he has been. He is a teacher and stops at schools along the way. His blogs are interesting and well written, it is worth checking out. He has gear lists and stats on his trip. It's all pretty descriptive. Check it out, comment, sponsor him, tell your friends. It's a pretty cool trip.
